I live in a small town in Alabama and was raised on a small 1 1/2 acre lot where my mom and dad taught me how to be self efficient. Now I have grand kids and want to show them how to take care of themselves also. I do not have a subscription, but would love to have a resource to look to on getting back to nature and self efficiency.
I just read my first issue of Mary Janes Farm. I absolutely love the stories and pictures. I hoped that there were more women like me out there in this modern age of manicures and liposuction, who would rather get dirty digging in the dirt and being creative in the kitchen. After reading this magazine it showed me that there are women like me! I enjoy sewing, crafting, gardening and cooking. This is all wrapped up in a pretty package of a magazine! Thank you for creativity and hard work sharing your passion with others! Love it! And I can’t wait to read more.

I am a Farm Girl and I love this magazine! From the very first issue, I was just absolutely taken aback by the gorgeous photos, cute clip art, yummy recipes, and uplifting stories. It is so very refreshing to see stories about women of all different races and cultures, because this is not typical of other magazines. It is the only magazine I’ve ever subscribed to that literally has brought tears to my eyes, and set me in motion to do better for myself, my family, and my community. After starting my own Chapter a few years ago, I have met women in my area that otherwise I would not have, and I cannot be more thankful. Thank you for the inspiration. I am currently on the lookout to try and find back issues. This is one of the only magazines I will keep forever!

I just found your magazine on Saturday at Lowe’s. It is great. Every page seems to be written for me! I was sharing it with a co-worker at lunch today. She has one of your chenille bedspreads but didn’t know about the rest of the story!
My sister is struggling with the blues recently. She lives on the family farm with my mother. I went back to Lowe’s today and bought three more copies. I’m sending her one with sticky notes (like “I want one of these” by the picture of your Airstream).
Another goes to a friend of my young son (23) who makes soaps and ointments and has a prized sourdough starter.
The other one is for a friend a church. Can’t wait to give it to her!
And I learned a new word – doula.
I’m calling the nearest quilt shop tomorrow to see if they carry your fabric!

I came across your book, “Glamping,” at a vintage trailer outing recently and was totally intrigued so I bought one for myself. I feel too timid to go off trailering on my own, but my husband and I love to get together with our vintage trailer pals throughout the year. What a great magazine/website!! I have 3 kids from 3 to 15 yrs old and we have been “getting back to basics” with our life lately. Down home important stuff. Home grown groceries, busting out with the sewing machine for everything, and focusing on what’s truly important, family!! You guys are hitting the nail on the head with the good ol’ down-home that’s so lost in today’s world!! Good on ya!
I saw your iron bed cutting table on Pinterest and started to laugh. My sister has a beautiful antique sleigh bed in storage because she couldn’t find a mattress that fit either. Next time I talk to her I’m going to let her know there’s hope for her bed after all. Thanks for the chuckle at the expense of my sister’s long time dilemma.

Hello! I am a Warrant Officer in the U.S Army and am currently on my fourth deployment to the Middle East. I am going to retire when I get home, and will join the glamping crowd. My husband and I bought a place in Montana and I can’t wait to start a garden and reconnect to Mother Earth. I’m so happy to find this website.

From the 1st magazine I received..I knew I had found soul sisters..I love the times from yesteryear..I hold it all very and close to my heart.It takes me back to a simpler time in my youth…of back yard swings. lilacs n gmas chicken coop..clothes on the line in the gentle breeze..gmas aprons..cinnamon rolls n sweet tea..bring sweet memories back to me….Thank you Mary Jane!! Raised country, and can’t wait to get back. Unemployed right now, so have to read your mag free at Barns and Nobel, but I do buy a coffee!! I DREAM of a vintage airstream, a clawfoot bathtub with sun/stove warmed water under the stars and a chicken coop tractor. If only I didn’t live in the suburbs, but I will try and do the tub anyway!! I love your mag and all it stands for.I have spent my entire life in the country and own horses, cows,llamas,chickens,cats and dogs.Nothing goes to waste here because something will eat it or we can compost it!I like how you show how country life can be classy and fun not boring and dull.Keep it up.

I stumbled on MJF magazine about 4 years ago. Brought it home, devoured it and signed up for a subscription. Let’s just say that I look forward to the magazine and when it arrives it makes my day. I savor every page more than once. The magazine has everything in it that I hold dear and it is done so beautifully. MaryJane’s Farm Magazine has changed my life!

why do I love your magazine? Maybe it’s the beautiful photography, or the weight of the pages, or the yummy recipes, or the practical ideas, or the down-to-earth articles or maybe even the ads ! There is just something very different about it that you can’t get in any other magazine. I save them all and use them over again for the crafts and the recipes.
I buy the magazine at the store, because it beckons to me. I love magazine racks in stores…the bigger, the better. And MaryJane’s Farm is one of the “better” 😉 How I would love to win a subscription 🙂

I have been a subscriber for a long time. I checked out your first book from the library (I own that one now) and saw you had a magazine so I subscribed. I am so glad I did. I enjoy everything! When I was little I wanted to live on a farm, so now I try and live some of it and share it with my children, your magazine helps me do just that.
I recently picked up an issue of your magazine during a “mama quiet time” at Barnes & Noble. I so enjoyed looking through the magazine, looking at the photos and reading the wonderful articles. I’m new to Mary Jane. I have bought the last two issues and read them from cover to cover. I have also just bought your “Glamping” book. I have always been a camper and a homebody……..but the “Mary Jane” way, takes it all to the next level for me. I am in search of my own vintage trailer and getting ready to join the Sisterhood and start earning patches. I’m an old family friend of the Royers and saw Tara post about the magazine on Twitter. I’m a born and raised city girl who recently married a rancher. We live 30 minutes from any grocery store or post office! I started my first garden this year, and the magazine looks really appealing to me!
Well, I figure I’ve been a “FarmGirl” for a long time – even when I wasn’t living on a farm ;~). I enjoy so much reading about young gals doing the things I’ve done for years & years, but every so often I get some new ideas that I want to try. I like to see all of the lovely things that folks are doing, too. Plus, although I live in a little town and can only have my chickie-doodles, I really like to read about all of the critters that others have – I miss having my own, I truly do.
