  1. Terri Jorgensen says:

I love, love, love this magazine. I packaged up all my subscriptions last year, bundled them with rafia and gave them to my hair dresser for Christmas. She loved them! Also, because of the Feb-March issues, I am the proud mama of 3-week old chickens, one being a Buff Orpington. I keep them out around the house because they make me smile. Thank you!

  2. Christine Mason says:

I was born 100 years too late! I belong where I can haul water, gather food from the garden and make bread by hand. Maryjane’s Farm inspires me, reminds that there are lifestyles like that. Our value systems match regarding caring for the earth, repurposing, creativity, not wasting and being kind. We live off the grid, on solar power with clean air and a bazillion stars at night
I feel at home and in sync with the beliefs and practices i read about in MaryJane’s farm.

  3. Vicki says:

MaryJanesFarm magazine is a keeper. Every issue is read cover to cover and my goal is to try something new from each issue. What fun!

  4. Melissa says:

Love your articles and tips you offer!

  5. Stacey Cram says:

I am a former subscriber who unfortunately had to let her subscription end due to a tight budget. I would love a free subscription to enjoy all the lovely photos and great writung…my 31/2 yr old loves all the photos of chickens, he’s a chicken farmer in training.

  6. Judy says:

I first found your magazine at a local library in Northern California while visiting my father. I looked through every month they had and spent the entire day in a perfect world…..

  7. Kat Tylee says:

Fell in love with your magazine not long after it came out. Finally someone who spoke my language! It is the only subscription I have kept for more than a round or two. I have finally gotten my little homestead to actually be able to use my farmgirl skills and learn new ones. Can’t wait to get some critters and have a nice big garden. Your magazine gives so many helpful information bits on this. Thank you.

  8. Sharon Crosswhite says:

I enjoy the recipes, the stories about interesting women, the photos….I’ve been a subscriber from the early days and hope to continue to do so for years to come!

  9. LaVerne Ellis says:

This magazine is new to me but looks very interesting. I love gardening and hope I find new ideas.

  10. carol brisco says:

    luv, luv url mag.

  11. Paula B says:

There isn’t anything I don’t like about your magazine BUT the artwork is the best – totally inspirational!

  12. Merrillyn Humphries says:

I subscribed for your magazine for 1 year. I didn’t get the chance to read them then. I always save all magazines that I get in the mail. And as the time went by I picked up a copy and read it and was quite impressed with the articles. And have gone through them and enjoyed them. Seems I always find a good hint in them.

  13. Denise Joudrey says:

    Mary Janes Farm Girl Rocks!!!

  14. Suzy says:

Love MJ’s magazine. The photos and articles and tips!! She’s a great lady that has a great magazine!!

  15. Terry Z says:

I like to read your magazine because it makes me feel good. It reminds me of days when I was growing up, and I would get to go to my cousins’ house on the farm for a week or two each summer. They did lots of cool stuff; they were in 4-H, they knitted, they had a hay loft, farm cats, lots of wide-open spaces to wonder, I got to “pick” the eggs–just great fun for a city kid. It makes me lust for girlfriends who like this stuff and for simpler times.

  16. Cynthia Murray says:

A week ago co-worker turned me onto an article about gardening while we were discussing our tips and tricks. She told me your story and I am inspired now. I am balancing a management career with my love of gardening and farming wishing to find a way to incorporate my love of outdoors into my career…or change altogether. I want to subscribe to MaryJanesFarm and I am not one to find a magazine worth buying a subscription to but from what I’ve read I love.
    You rock!
    Cindy

  17. Toni Haymaker says:

Though I didn’t grow up in the country, I’ve always dreamed of doing so. My parents always had a garden and raised food. Since being on my own I’ve not yet made it to the country, but my husband and I have had a small urban “farm” complete with chickens. Mary Janes Farm has been such an inspiration. Like many other readers it’s one magazine I save after reading, and then go back and re-read. I love the articles, the photos, the ideas, the connections, etc, etc. It’s wonderful to know so many farmgirls have the same dreams… The only downside to the magazine is my “to do” list has grown way to big! Love the magazine!

  18. Raelene Fleming says:

    MaryJane,
I live vicariously through you, your books, and your magazine! LOL Actually, I just ordered the magazine for the library I work in, just so others can read it! We have so many young women in our foothills here that once they discover the magazine they will love it too! Thank you for all the inspiration, ideas, and dreams!
Hoping and waiting to hear if I win!
    Raelene 🙂

I think your magazine would be perfect for my daughter in law. Their family JUST bought an almost 2 acres in Alabama with a trailer and a shell of a house someone started and they are finishing. They want to raise veggies and chickens and have no idea how (LOL) with their two little girls and she loves to cook and sew.

Farm Girl at heart even though I live in the city. Wonderful magazine!

  29. SueN says:

Love MJF magazine. Gifted it to my two best buddies. We love old things, just like us.

  30. Jenny Williams says:

WOW what a response! I read most of the posts and agree with all of them. I have about 2 years worth of magazines that I have collected. I LOVE THEM! I won’t get rid of them for fear that I may need some of the information that is in one and have gone back to look for things in the past. I really look forward to getting each issue when it comes out to see what I can learn. Thank you for such a wonderful magazine.

  31. valerie henning says:

I absolutely love your magazine. It is so eclectic and warm. Its perfect for the rural farm girl as well as the city dwelling lady who yearns for a touch of the country.

  32. Dodi Mounce says:

My favorite magazine ever! Always up to date, informative, and reliable information and resources. Love the articles and how-to’s, the inspiration……and no nonsensical, cluttering ads! The ads are relevant and ones that I feel confident in using and sharing. Thanks for making and keeping this a pure publication!

  33. Kristina C says:

I love, love, love your magazine. It’s nice to be a farm girl, even if I live in the city. Mary Jane’s magazine is my source of inspiration and reminder that I can make a difference growing veggies on my balcony and teaching my kids to enjoy (and protect) the outdoors. I would very much love to win a year’s subscription.

  34. Heather Sandoval says:

The first issue I read had to do with raising chickens. I fell in love with that issue and every one since. I live in the city but on a little over half an acre. I hope to get some hens next year and build a nice looking chicken tractor to keep them safe from the neighborhood dogs. (we are allowed 4 hens but no roosters). I love the simplicity and the fact that the magazine embodies everything I have wanted to be. Thanks for the beauty of the magazine. I currently have an IPad subscription, but nothing compares to actually flipping through the magazine page by page. Would love the paper subscription.

  35. Michele Lindgren says:

LOVE your mag! Sadly, was one of the items to be cut when we refigured our budget.

  36. Roberta Peavey says:

Pick me, pick me. I love your magazine. Blessings to you! 🙂

  40. Barb Jenson says:

Heard about the magazine at Spicy Berry
Cottage. Looks like a fun magazine. I love country, baking, sewing, and gardening.

  41. Ruth Powlison says:

I live in Cusco, Peru (which means that I get my magazines all at once when someone comes from the States and can bring them), but I grew up in the country in Illinois. I don’t remember how I found out about Mary Jane’s Farm but I’m so glad that I did! I love that the magazine has old-fashioned values without being dated or dowdy. I love that nothing is wasted but rather “up cycled” or recycled. I love that both my married daughter and I love them and that we read and re-read them! Keep up the great work! Just wish I could still get back issues!

  42. mommar6 says:

I read your magazine for the first time a couple weeks ago and immediately subscribed. I love it and all of the women with country in their hearts!

  43. Jean says:

I enjoy every issue of Mary Jane’s magazines and continue to pick up my past issues and enjoy them again and again!!! My favorite and most enjoyable times spent reading, creating and dreaming with MJ’s magazines in my hands. Would love to win an free issue!

  44. Diana McAnally says:

Cleaning out a bookcase today I came across a copy that I forgot I had. Reading it and going to the website have inspired me to do some projects and get going on that garden.

I live on a nineteenth century homestead and love the quiet country life with frogs on the pond, and even the woodpecker drumming a hole in the siding of my house.

Would love a free subscription but would subscribe in any case, because my real-life sister and I both have a love for the land and growing things.

  45. Brisja says:

I found MaryJanesFarm years ago at an out of the way general store while traveling. I loved it then, and still love it now! There is always something on every cover that makes me want to sit right down and read the whole thing front to back! I am a true farm girl at heart, no matter whether I am living in the city, on the beach or far from the maddening crowd. I always have several handicraft projects going at once and can’t keep from buying and growing green, glorious things. Thank you for all the tips, advice and tricks you have given me over the years. I am always learning something new about being a glamorous farm girl!

  46. terry buske says:

i have to admit that i am not a subscriber, but i would dearly love to be. i work at a grocery store where your mag is sold and i sneak a copy to read on my breaks. always my favorite one!!!! i can’t afford a subscription right now (PT, min wage) but hope to in the future. i grew up on a farm and have gardened and done farm stuff all my life. even lived on a communal farm in a geodesic dome in my youth.

  47. Susanne says:

I love the creativity of MJ’s Farm magazine. Although I’m not currently a subscriber, I have kept all my past issues and look back in them regularly for recipes and patterns and sometimes just to enjoy the lovely photography. Thank you!
