My favorite dessert is the chocolate mayonnaise cake that has come from my great grandma, in both cake and cupcake form!
Oh, just one?!! If I’m eating out and have any room left for dessert, favorite would be a rich and ‘custardy’ crime brûlée! However, my most made & served at home is, hands down, homemade apple pie! I can’t wait to try your little Russian lattice pies – they are so cute! I don’t use my cast iron enough, but the pans are kept well seasoned! Love the cookie cutters – who wouldn’t! Moved to TN last year and all of my cutters ‘disappeared’ in that – these would be a lovely replacement! You are a most thoughtful and generous lady – wonderful magazine, it makes everyone feel like a Farm Girl! Thanks for your support!
Separated from my biological mother at birth, I was adopted during the “Baby Scoop Era”. Very long story short, I reunited w/my natural mother 15 years ago and we had 6 years to learn about one another before she passed. Last year, I was able to locate my natural father. My ‘new-old’ family invited me to Thanksgiving Dinner and my husband and I went. All my ‘new’ brothers (1/2 brothers) told me to save room for my father’s cake because it was “The Bomb!” I’m glad I listened…They called it Italian Cream Cake and even though I’m a huge dessert lover, this one now ‘takes the cake’ for me!
Peach Pie! I gather peaches in season, wash, flash freeze, vacuum seal and to the freezer. Anytime I want to make a fresh homemade pie, I have fresh peaches anytime!
Second would be my Pumpkin Bread. I do the same as with the peaches, cut, cook and seal pumpkin to make anytime. Makes perfect Christmas gifts!
Chocolate covered Strawberries!!! 🙂
Mom made a boysenberry frozen dessert that was my favorite. I need to find that recipe.
Hummingbird cake is delicious! ❤
My favorite dessert is anything and everything with sugar in it-I truly have the biggest sweet tooth ever!!!
My all time absolutely favorite dessert is ice cream. Any flavor, any color, any additions, just love the creamy texture, the way it slides down your throat and makes every occasion festive!!
Strawberry Shortcake
My most loved dessert is a gingerbread cookie. I even have a gingerbread themed kitchen!
My most favorite dessert is the home made Two Crust Raisin Pie my grandmother would make. She made the crust with lard, that would melt in your mouth. She cooked the raisins on top of the stove before she baked the pie. I don’t know the whole recipe, I was too young to appreciate the value, but to me it was the best!
Love lemon bars! Fresh, citrusy and tart, yet sweet at the same time.
Really moist chocolate cake
My most heartfelt dessert is banana pudding. The combination of the textures and flavors is
perfect.
Love lemon bars! Fresh, citrusy and tart, but also sweet. Beautiful and yummy all at the same time.
Lemon raisin sugar cookies
Chocolate cream pie with chocolate curls on top.
My favorite dessert was derived from my mother’s recipes and she got the original recipe from our local newspaper back in the 1970’s. It is called Raspberry Layer Dessert. There is a bottom layer comprised of flour, butter and walnuts that are chopped very small. This layer is baked in the oven until light brown.
The second layer is the vanilla pudding which covers the bottom layer after it has cooled.
The third and final layer is made of freshly picked raspberries 2 cups of which are added to 1/3 cup of corn starch and 1 cup of sugar. The combination is placed on the stove and stirred until the mixture has boiled. It is cooled to lukewarm and then spread on top of the pudding layer and the whole dessert is refrigerated until cold.
At the time you serve the dessert, it is topped with homemade whipped cream. It is delicious but very rich so one can usually eat only one serving at a time
Homemade Boston Cream Pie. I make myself one every year for my birthday, the perfect marriage of tender sponge cake, cool and smooth vanilla custard, and chocolate ganache. This year, my precious daughter-in-law, Jenni insists she’s making it for me. I am so loved!
German chocolate cake
All of them. Every last one. But I’ve narrowed it down to two. Sometimes I just crave a good old fashioned peach cobbler. With a splash of heavy cream over it when served.
German chocolate pie. All that smooth sweet creamy chocolate with crisp toasted pecan and coconut floating on top what’s not to love about that!
Homemade cream puffs!
Strawberry Preztel salad
My favorite dessert is my mom’s apple pie. She made the best pie. I think her magic ingredient was lard for such a flaky, yummy crust. She was an expert at crimping the edges, too. I miss her terribly.
Lemon ice box pie with meringue.
My mom’s black raspberry pie, warm from the oven…She’s 88 on February 12th and still avidly cans, freezes, cooks and bakes. ❤
Banana pudding has to be it.
Yes please, thank you! xox!!
A recipe shared with me long ago – Aunt Dump’s Chocolate Cake. I don’t REALLY like chocolate. Even though this cake has cocoa in it, it has a very mild chocolate taste to it. Just enough to make it so, so, yummy! In later recipe sharing/researching/looking, i found that the Texas Sheet Cake is very similar. Since I am from Texas, I favor that name better! :). So, my favorite dessert is Texas Sheet Cake with pecan chocolate frosting. All home made and done in about 45 minutes.
Strawberry shortcake
Home made cheesecake.
It would have to be lemon pie for me, I’ve loved it forever!
Cheesecake is my favorite dessert. With raspberries on top.
My husband loves my raisin pie. I always enjoy making it since he enjoys eating it.
Thanks for the sweet giveaway! My most favorite dessert is strawberry shortcake with in-season strawberries & freshly whipped cream. I only make it once a year (usually) for our Father’s Day dinner so that makes it extra special 🙂
Smiles, DianeM
My Nanas chocolate pie of course! She doesn’t make it very often anymore because she’s afraid we will die of salmonella because of the raw eggs. It is the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. I love it and her!
Apple fritters but they must be warm.
