MaryJane will post a photo and a description of a prop and its cost along with a few details as to its condition here: https://shop.maryjanesfarm.org/MaryJanesCurations. It’s a playful way to be the new owner of a little bit of farm herstory.
Love this photo of the family well beside the homestead. I can imagine a woman dressed in her apron pumping water early in the morning to bring indoors to start the pot of coffee on the wood stove and begin heating up the pan of water on the back burner for dishes after breakfast.. Know how I have this vision? I watched my own Grandmother do this at their farm when I was very young. We had a large white enamel ware pail with a red rim that was our water for the kitchen use.
I would not be able to walk passed that without stopping to give it a try. Those old dreams of living a wilderness sort of life come bubbling back up to the surface. Common sense did eventually set in. Still, I would love to have that in my yard – and I would use it!
