Buy props used in MaryJane’s books and magazine!
5% of profits will benefit www.firstbook.org, a non-profit that provides new books to children from low-income families throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Here’s how:
MaryJane will post a photo and a description of a prop and its cost along with a few details as to its condition here: https://shop.maryjanesfarm.org/MaryJanesCurations. It’s a playful way to be the new owner of a little bit of farm herstory.

Moon rock?
Warning: Proceed only if you are comfortable with what goes on beneath toilet floors.
So having lived without indoor plumbing for a NUMBER of years (30 years total), getting a fully functioning toilet has been an adventure into an unknown space-time continuum. This might boggle some of your minds to say the least, but it has been a way of life out here! After getting up to speed with indoor plumbing, (you must read my post, The Queen’s Throne) and moving into our new and spacious Design Studio, we have been dealing with, um, a few plug-ups that we thought were the result of an over-zealous toilet paper user. Boy, were we wrong! After finally hiring someone to come out and assess the p-issue, THIS is what popped out of our pipes!
see you at our downtown sing-a-long
Come one and all to a sing-a-long with the Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute (the organization I founded 25 years ago) at the Kenworthy Theater! Come early for delicious homemade soup, bread, and dessert. Beverages will be for sale, provided by One World Cafe, which undoubtedly will be useful for those of you who need a little liquid courage for public singing. The Moscow High School Glee Club will perform to help get you in the mood, a documentary will be shown on John Denver, and then the floor will be opened up for anyone and everyone who loves to sing a good John Denver song! Dan Maher of Northwest Public Radio will be leadin’ the singin’. This is an event for all ages and sure to bring a smile to your face!

Ready for gleaming word olympics?
So one review of The Book of Awesome and many gleaming words later, I stumbled upon a website that is also awesome, but with their vocabulary! The website called randomlyawesomewords.com is dedicated to complex phrases you might hear during a game of Balderdash, and these stumpers are sure to have you scratching your head.
Rachel’s Wish
By the time she reached her 9th birthday, Rachel Beckwith had already taken steps to change the world. This young lady was, by all appearances, a regular kid living in Issaquah, Washington. But behind her sweet smile, Rachel was determined. Brimming with generosity, she wanted more than anything to help improve other people’s lives, and she was using all of her girl gumption to get it done.
