Happiness …

We all know happiness can’t be bought or sold. And we know we can’t expect anyone to create happiness for us, right? So if you can’t buy something to make you happy and you’re supposed to make yourself happy, how is that done exactly?

Old Linens and Lace

Gorgeous!!!! Children’s clothing made from vintage linens and used clothing were sent our way to be juried for Project F.A.R.M. (First-class American Rural Made) certification.

The detail and care sewn into these are awesome! Impressive. Wish you could hold them in your hands. But wait, you can. Here’s where you can buy some of Dawn Baker’s Designs (db Designs) for your very own. She also takes custom orders for everything from furniture to architectural elements to ballerina wedding dresses. Check her out for yourself!

Giveaway: Organic Cotton Socks

Me and Maggie … we had it good. Long walks, toasty toes, lounging about together … we never wanted to be apart. It was summer love. She was so dreamy … all about peace and the earth … I was taken. But alas, she is on her way … in this week’s giveaway.

To win, just tell me why you’re also IN LOVE with Maggie’s Functional Organics!

La Mia Designs (Stephanie M. DeJoseph)

A mini reusable zipper pouch and a black necklace with matching earrings, a tote, and a

scarf, all handmade from upcycled materials, were sent our way to be juried for Project F.A.R.M. (First-class American Rural Made) certification. Told by designer Stephanie M. Dejoseph (La Mia Designs) that we could keep them (WOW!), we decided to share the hand-embroidered “Farm Fresh Produce” tote and the super soft, matches-any-outfit, one-of-a-kind scarf.

Modeled by our beautiful graphic designer, Karina Elzinga, the first person to tell us what CSA they were signed up for this past summer gets the “Farm Fresh Produce” tote.

And for the first person to tell us you’ve already been snowed on (come on Dakota!), the gorgeous scarf apparently needs to be sent to you.

Round of applause for Stephanie M. DeJoseph of La Mia Designs!!!!!!

Public Service

Wondering who I am? I’m Merit Badge Awardee Jane (MBA Jane for short). In my former life

Mr. Wonderful has a wonderful way of being involved in the community that I’ve really sat up and taken notice of. I decided to take a page from his book, so to speak, and really up my connection to my hometown … and what do you know? There’s a merit badge for just such community spirit!

I have to admit to being a little intimidated by going to a town council meeting, but on the other side of that nervous pancake, I have always kind of wondered what they talk about in there. I mean, were they discussing the length of my grass, the state of my favorite downtown restaurants, voting in a new Bed, Bath and Beyond? What was all the chatter about every third Wednesday?

I resolved to find out by giving myself a new do and picking out an I-mean-business outfit.

Barn Raising

Getting ready to build a new shelter for my ever-expanding milk cow herd.

In the background is my one-car-garage-size milk barn where our girls give us their liquid gold every day.

Horsin’ Around

Grandgirls came out to ride yesterday. Giddy up, LB.

Doesn’t LB look totally bored?
