Lucky You MaryJane ! you have honeybees! I have a huge stand of false sunflower aka Aurelia, which draws in all the pollinators but alas I have not seen a single honey bee all summer.
Yes, I am lucky. I have four super active hives that I attend to. They give me honey; I take good care of them. Win, win.
Your bees are beautiful, MaryJane and I bet they give you delicious honey too. You have the perfect place to have honey bees with all of the rich agricultural land where you live. Is bee keeping fun?
Well, truth be known, it’s a lot more work than I thought it would be. Maybe that’s because I have such healthy bees, but I’m looking at needing to split a couple of crowded hives soon. Although, I harvested honey from my new Flow Hive recently. What a dream! Big fan. No muss, no fuss. And it’s full again!
I a Flow Hive a brand name or a type of hive? We added chickens to our homestead two years ago and the plan is to add bees in the next year or two. I want to be well prepared for them so that I have healthy hives.
My granddaughters and I harvested 2 gallons in no time at all …without ANY mess. Love it!
