Yum, Damson plums are so good and make the best jam. My Mom made some every Summer and we loved it on toast.
Still no power so I am at the local laundromat with everyone else who has no power and reading my book on apples. Out town was really spared devastating damage which was so fortunate. We all have downed trees and
Debris to clean up while waiting for power. Many got power late yesterday and I am hoping we get some today. It is getting hot and humid today again so AC woukd be nice.
I am counting my blessings and heading over to the grocery store for more ice. I’ve been doing a lot of cooking in my cast iron skillet the past few days. We Farmgirls pride ourselves on being resourceful and making do!
I was wondering how you’re able to post. Nice image of you reading an apple book at the local sudz and spin. What are you using for fuel to power your cast iron?
Our house has natural gas heat and also for the cook stove. The ignition switch doesn’t work without power but a trusty match works perfectly fine when I turn the gas on. lol kinda of a luxury camping stove indoors!!
Poifect!

My friend who lives on the east coast in Delray beach got her elec on 2 days ago, amazingly. but she is so clueless, until then she didnt even have the common sense to use her outdoor gas grill to make coffee . I quote: “Id kill for a cup of coffee, but i need elec for my coffeemaker! ” uh duh!
