a glampin’ we will go

Here’s Shery Jesperson, our Ranch Farmgirl blogger, and her ‘Cabin in a Can’. (More pics of glamorous, fabulous, tricked-out, gorgeous, stunning, and stupendous glampers coming soon.) This is the spot where we’ve enjoyed more than one delicious cup of coffee, as well as banana, chocolate and cinnamon bread of all sorts. Shery, THANK YOU and your glamper girlfriends for your Wyoming-style hospitality (hearts as big as a washtub) …

At the same time Robin and I were glamping it up in Flagstaff, Arizona in our “laced up” tent and totally glammed canopy with all kinds of accessories. We were photographed, videoed, visited, cheered, complimented galore . . . by women and men! A man from England came by and visited with us and said that he’s camped all over the world but our campsite was absolutely the best he’s ever seen. It was such fun!
Hopefully, some day we can glamp in the same place at the same time . . . that would be Glamping Farmgirl AWESOME!
    Love everyone’s trailers and decor!

What kinds of clouds are these bubbling above the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming?

Ominous ones.

  2. Lynne says:

Frightening . . . The dangers from fire seems to be increasing wherever we live!

  3. Laurie Dimino says:

Stay safe MaryJane! Prayers going out to those in the afffected area- safety for all of the people and livesstock and wildlife! Very scary sight indeed-just looking at it in pictures- cant imagine actually being there in person.

  4. Ann Marie says:

We lived in Montana a number of years ago, and our first view of forest fire was one that was burning around us on three sides at the same time as the Yellowstone Fire was scorching its grounds two hundred miles from us. It was a terrifying sight to see ash fall around us, the sun blood-red in the sky, and to know that at any time the wind may change. Ominous “clouds” is a good description.

Such beautiful pictures! I’m preparing for our vacation right now to the Grand Canyon. And even though I live in God’s country, I love to see other parts of the USA. Also I will be able to cross seeing the Grand Canyon off my “Bucket List”.

somewhere in Montana

I’m on the road with Lily, my adorned, adorable Airstream. Headed east. South Dakota bound.

  1. Winnie Nielsen says:

Fun!! I just received my copy of Glamping yesterday and immediately sat down to review each page. I cannot wait for time to read it word for word. Maybe that Willa happen over the upcoming 3 day weekend!! Enjoy your adventure.

  2. Crystal Shultz says:

If you are going through Central MT (Hilger MT) and want to take a rest stop let me know!

  3. Marie Bucher (ReeReeBee) says:

Please give a wave to my family on your way through! Columbia Falls, MT near Glacier National Park. I’m all the way down in Florida and I’m longing for some mountains…especially after our scorching hot summer.

  4. Greetings from the city, Mary Jane! I love your Airstream, and I love the beautiful Black Hills–my native home! I know you will enjoy yourselves and the beauty of the sounds (trout streams) and scents (Ponderosa Pine) while taking some respite. I just received my copy of GLAMPING, which is really for my mom for Christmas–if I can wait that long to give it to her! She wasn’t healthy enough to camp in her RV more than once this past summer, but I did my utmost to help out with their home and garden while she recuperated after surgery. One of the best ways we spent her recovery time was PLANNING A CAMPING TRIP NEXT SUMMER. She also knows I’ve wanted to sleep in a wall-tent on your farm ever since I read the passage about you ‘sleeping in a down sleeping bag under the stars in the winter’ from your book ‘Outpost.’ What I did do after that was to layer clothes, my winter parka, and grandma’s quilt and slept in the family mini-van outside in a downpour…AND, I LOVED IT! THANK YOU, MARY JANE, for ALL THE INSPIRATION YOU SHARE!

  5. Ruby Olson says:

Enjoy reading your blogs about your camper and traveling experience. I’ve done that from Ohio to the Northwest, Ca. Oregon, Montana, etc. Fun!

Ride Idaho

Just past Iversons, on a might past the Y, but before the Johnson place, here comes my sister-in-law, Sandy, after riding close to 400 miles on her bike.

How great! Love the story of the bikers. Tell Nick not to worry too much about not hearing Adria–my hubby can’t always understand our grandgirl, Zoey, sometimes either. It’s so cute to listen & then to decipher what the grandgirls really said! Usually not close to what “pa”or “Poppy”(our grandgirls name for hubby) said or meant. But it is precious just the same.

  2. Winnie Nielsen says:

Wow, what an accomplishment! I bet the ride was beautiful and quite challenging for 400 miles.

National Aviation Day

Happy National Aviation Day!! While we aren’t celebrating the holiday in the air this year, we have spent a fair amount of time up there recently. And traveling is no longer a low-stress event—delays, canceled flights, lost luggage …

I have an entirely new appreciation for my parents getting me out of bed in the wee hours of the morning to board a plane and fly across the country.  Now that I know what it entails, I have a few pointers I’ve picked up along the way …

This is excellent . . . ! I no longer have little ones to fly with but will pass your words on to those who do. SAVED!
