Buy props used in MaryJane’s books and magazine!
5% of profits will benefit www.firstbook.org, a non-profit that provides new books to children from low-income families throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Here’s how:
MaryJane will post a photo and a description of a prop and its cost along with a few details as to its condition here: https://shop.maryjanesfarm.org/MaryJanesCurations. Itโs a playful way to be the new owner of a little bit of farm herstory.

Freewheeling
Wow.
Let me just start by saying โฆ
wow
again.
A woman named Sue Austin has just rocked my world,
challenging any notion I ever entertained about limitation.
When you can merge the words “wheelchair” and “scuba diving” in the same sentence, you know you’re in the presence of something,
rather, someone
extraordinary …
-
This is so amazing!! What an inspiration to us all!!
-
That was really stunning! Thanks for sharing.
-
she is sooo beautiful and her “vehicle” is extraordinary. FREEDOM!!!!

That is one well behaved dog! How on Earth did you ever get your dog to stay still for that picture? It must be a camera hammy dog; we had a dog that adored playing in the snow too! Well done Megan:-)
-
I love all the smiles, especially the dog’s! It’s good to see happy faces greet me in the morning ๐
-
What a cool photo! How did you get the dog to cooperate? Amazing, he looks just like he knows exactly what is going on.
-
Isn’t Rylee adorable? We are all in love with him and he is the perfect model. And he LOVES the snow!

On Assignment, Part I
I heard a quiet whoosh and turned to find you-know-who trying to locate the perfect snowflake …
Ok, not really. Truth is …
-
Oh my goodness girls:-) I was just planning on taking a quick stop here before whizzing off to start my Saturday but you ladies have slowed me down considerably~in a good way. Now I’m smiling so hard (& not b/c you fell MaryJane but) b/c you look so genuinely happy.
Happiness like that, is a tonic you just cannot bottle. Thanks for sharing this with us, I think all adult mothers’ & daughters’ should really play like this~in the snow!~at least once as adults. What a beautiful bonding experience. Could go on your list for things to do with your mom when Mother’s Day rolls around.
-
P.S. My husband & I recently (two days ago) watched Bing Crosby’s movie, White Christmas for what must be the twelfth time now. Just so you know, I really like, snow`snow`snow:-)
-
Well I think the one of her on the ground with the Christmas tree behind her would work. TeeHeeHee!
-
OMG…. laughing here… Good thing you were there to help her up Meg! LOL!!! MaryJane you could wear a bag over your head and still beautiful! Looks like fun!!! hugs, Deb
-
I love the photo of Meg helping Mary Jane up. It shows so much fun and laughter together in the moment. This would make an awesome cover front. “The Gatherin’ o’ the greens” together for 2013.
-
I think you’re beautiful just the way your are Mary Jane. Looks more natural. Real. Make a Cover.
-
nothing beats farmgirl hilarity! This is absolutely magazine cover material! I treasure these pictures…
-
I fell too when we were tree hunting and I got to giggling so much I couldn’t get up ๐ You look great with snow frosting!
-
Thanks ladies. We had so much fun … the kind of fun where you laugh so hard you’d better cross your legs. ๐

On Assignment, Part II
So the next day, Mom called for all farmhands on deck to test ourย snow for snowman worthiness.
Ace had no problem forming the perfect “snowball” but it was a “snowman” Mom wanted.
After a proper snowball fight, we had one more distraction to accomplish. In honor of MaryJane’s fall from grace the day before, we thought we’d try to make her feel better.
Okay, back to work …
hmmm … Our snowman might not be photo worthy either.
Too bad. We’ll have to play in the snow again next week once it warms up. 20 degree snow, even with the sun warming it,ย doesn’t lend itself to the legendary Frosty we were hoping to create.
-
I hope no dogs were hurt in the digital filming of these falls ๐ Ummm, hope to see your snowman when he’s ah…feeling a little~more like himself. Hope you girls have a fabulous w/e, enjoy!
-
It could be a “Charlie Brown” Frosty;0

It is supposed to be 76 degrees today and then 80 for the rest of the week and weekend!! Are we both on the same planet?? I would love to see this view out of my window right now so that I could enjoy wearing the fingerless gloves and cute hat I learned how to knit this December.

It looks beautiful to me! Living in the south means I don’t get to experience the snow and cold that seems so perfect for hibernating after a busy holiday season. Growing up in Virginia gave me a taste of weather like this and now I wish I could experience it again. My new knitting skills would have new purpose and urgency in weather such as this. Enjoy some respite by the fire for me!

and 10 at my house. But the day is so lovely that one does like to look at it, just from the comfort of inside as opposed to out there. Trips out to feed & water the hens and put seed in the bird feeders will be my limit, I think.
But, for the first time (we’ve lived here for 14 years now) there were deer prints in the back yard / garden / orchard area. I hope they are not already having trouble finding food. -
AH, but it looks so beautiful out there!!!! It was about 18 when I awoke here on Long Island today…many trips out to the chicken coop to defrost water and to the rabbit hutch too!
Thanks for the beautiful vista!
Stay warm and cozy!
Hugs,
Laurie
Whoa!!! Too cute!!
Oh I love it!!! Pink!!!!!!
You are blessed and I love your work.
