see you at our downtown sing-a-long

Come one and all to a sing-a-long with the Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute (the organization I founded 25 years ago) at the Kenworthy Theater! Come early for delicious homemade soup, bread, and dessert. Beverages will be for sale, provided by One World Cafe, which undoubtedly will be useful for those of you who need a little liquid courage for public singing. The Moscow High School Glee Club will perform to help get you in the mood, a documentary will be shown on John Denver, and then the floor will be opened up for anyone and everyone who loves to sing a good John Denver song! Dan Maher of Northwest Public Radio will be leadin’ the singin’. This is an event for all ages and sure to bring a smile to your face!

Rachel’s Wish

By the time she reached her 9th birthday, Rachel Beckwith had already taken steps to change the world. This young lady was, by all appearances, a regular kid living in Issaquah, Washington. But behind her sweet smile, Rachel was determined. Brimming with generosity, she wanted more than anything to help improve other people’s lives, and she was using all of her girl gumption to get it done.

Just as I got all excited….I continued on to read that they are not available online :(. NO fair!!!!!
This just further proves my point that I simply MUST get to the B&B for a stay soon. Then I can visit the store in Moscow too!
I just love the idea of re-using these tins, and I love the saying you’ve put on the tins. Looks like you have come up with yet another wonderful, useful product!

  2. Beautiful! =) My friend has the Sun-Kissed skin one. Simply amazing. 🙂
I was wondering, why did your store in Cda shut down? I live nearby and often enjoyed viewing the adorable handcrafted things in it. Are you planning on opening one nearby, or say, in Sandpoint? =)
    Love,
    Emily

It’s still going strong, better than ever. What made you think it has closed? Moscow store still open also. Hmmm.

If you had a chance to watch the Pixar film WALL-E, you may have asked yourself, where is all of our trash going?

I absolutely love this!!! What we all have hoped to see. This is so encouraging. Now to get our government on board with this idea and out of the pockets of big oil and other industries that have not been sustainable. Wow!

The Book of Good Cheer

Published 1911, The Book of Good Cheer, p. 31 (last entry was from p. 23)

“There is only one way to be happy and that is to make somebody else so.”

-Sidney Smith

p. 36

“Nothing is so contagious as enthusiasm. It is the real allegory of the tale of Orpheus. It moves stones, it charms brutes. Enthusiasm is the genius of sincerity and truth accomplishes no victories without it.”

-Bulwer

The Book of Good Cheer

Published 1911, The Book of Good Cheer, p. 23

“There is no duty we so much underrate as the duty of being happy. By being happy we sow anonymous benefits upon the world, which remain unknown even to ourselves, or when they are disclosed, surprise nobody so much as the benefactor.”

-Robert Louis Stevenson

“There has not been a single day since the world began when the sun was not shining. The trouble has been with our vision.”

    Sharing this on facebook! =)

Going, going, GONE!

The Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute http://www.pcei.org/ that I founded 25 years ago, had a weekend fundraiser, “25 chairs for 25 years.” Members of the community signed up to decorate an Adirondack chair, provided by PCEI, parade it around town and at our local farmers’ market, and then attend a live auction. The chairs were art at its best! Take a gander and then get out your tools. You’ll want to do this in your own home town or at least, your backyard to your own chairs.

This photo typifies PCEI … a smart car and lots of bikes parked on our 13 acre campus smack-dab in the middle of town surrounded by houses on all four sides.

Hi MaryJane!! I love your books and everything about them :-). I wanted to tell you that I love that you have a blog now and I can get my MaryJane fix even more. Problem is, I can only read your posts when I click on the link from my email. When I try to access it from your pretty blog homepage it goes to some internet search engine. I might be doing something wrong but I wanted to tell you. Hope you are having a beautiful day 🙂

    • MaryJane says:

Wouldn’t ya know. That’s why we’re moving slow with alerts and such. We want to make sure the functionalities are all in order. THANK YOU for your feedback my friend! We will DEFINITELY look into that!

    • designer says:

      Hi Mandie!
Thanks for alerting us to your access problem. Can you provide us with more information on how this is occurring? We would love to know which page specifically you are accessing, (www…) and what search engine you are being taken to. When you get a second, could you email this information to ace@maryjanesfarm.org? This would help us out a ton!

      Thanks so much,
      Ace
