Giveaway! Magnolia Pearl Clothing

Imagine a place where vintage clawfoot tubs rest, chandeliers greet you lovingly from worn wood center beams, and intricately detailed tin ceilings blush with a touch of rust from above.

That place is Magnolia Pearl Ranch and now you can have a piece of it.

This beautiful and lovingly crafted house was the creative outlet for Robin Brown and her husband/business partner, John Gray, and their company, Magnolia Pearl Clothing.

Their ranch’s intricate sense of style reflects a colorful and free-flowing Bohemian flair with just a splash of Victorian and a large dose of girly. It’s everything funky, delicate, and artistic.

And the ranch is for sale for $665,000 because she and her partner have moved to another part of Texas to begin fixing up another place. Drool with me here. Did ya know she also has an Airstream? But not just any Airstream.

Past Tents

Shery, our Ranch Farmgirl blogger, alerted me to this book for sale on eBay. I snatched it up right away. Used copies are available through Amazon, but it won’t be mine any time soon. This is a keeper.

Lots of good stuff inside.

And powder room.

Do you think someday there will be a book about “the way we glamped?”

  1. Terry Steinmetz says:

    I sure hope so!

  2. CJ Armstrong says:

Well-ll-ll, Mary Jane, I certainly hope so. I could help you write it . . :D!

    • MaryJane says:

You’re on! When we’re in our 80s and sitting around the campfire after a day of fishing, we’ll do some dishin’ and call it a book.

  3. Winnie Nielsen says:

These photos are so very cool! I love to see how life was lived in the 1920s. Lots of new traditions were started once people could be more mobile and national parks became available. Thanks for sharing!

  4. JoAnn Groth says:

The book arrived yesterday–I showed my husband and he loves it. He’s more of a tenter than glamper: ) It’s a fun read.

WINNER! Glamper’s Calendar Giveaway

Below are the submissions for the Glamper’s Calendar Giveaway! Check out these glamporific images.

This is Sophie and DFor, the dog, Glamping in Glastonbury in an E-den glamping cabin. E-dens are amazing. They are the latest glamping craze in the UK. Check out their website: www.e-dencamping.co.uk
Thanks
Jill

Hello! I’m a big fan and love my 1973 Airstream more and more each time I open your magazine! My mom bought me your glamping book for Christmas and I just love it too! Keep it up, and thanks for the inspiration!
Heather Tiefenthaler
Mechanicsburg, Ohio

Here is my “glamping” photo, which is from the “summer home” that I created in my very own backyard. My tent, which was set up last year from May-October, proved to be my own little girl getaway, which I truly enjoyed. I plan on expanding on the idea this year and utilizing the antique clawfoot tub, which I purchased for just $50, as an outdoor spa too!Thank you for all of the wonderful ideas and inspirations—and the chance to win that fabulous glamping photo calendar!
Hugs,
Laurie

  3. Jean says:

You’re making me miss my airstream (2007-27FB international) something fierce. We moved across country (from TN to WA) and our Airstream is still at the kids’ farm 🙁

Trying to find a way to get it here that doesn’t break the bank.

  4. Mary Jane,

I can’t thank you enough for considering Thelma Lou and awarding her driver the calendar. I speak for her when I say:

“We are thrilled to be alongside or even in the running with such great vintage gals and delighted to win. Thank you from the bottom of the giggly spot you put in our vintage traveling hearts.” Thelma Lou ’65 Kit Companion and Jalet Farrell

WINNER!!!! Giveaway: Sweater Shawl

Thanks to all those who did the “like” thing on the MaryJanesFarm Facebook page!

Before I tell you who won, have you heard the one about the cop and the knitting driver?

A cop was patrolling the beltway and saw a minivan driving somewhat erratically, so he flashed his lights. The van didn’t pull over, so he drove up beside it and motioned to the driver for her to pull over. He saw what the problem was; she was knitting! He motioned again, so she rolled down the window. He yelled out his window, “Pull over!” She yelled back, “No, cardigan!”

Hope you didn’t “cast-off” that joke as t-o-o corny. Now, onto our winner.

She is …

I sure could put this shawl to good use, as I will be traveling by plane, all the way from New York to Arizona, in March to meet up with our very own CJ, for some Arizona glamping fun!Definately looking forward to the adventure- and wouldnt it be so nice to do it in style sporting this beautiful shawl!

  7. Cathy R says:

What a lovely shaw! Can we enter here without doing the facebook thing? I really like your blog and everything MaryJane! Thanks for your generosity! Cathy in Orofino

  8. Winnie Nielsen says:

I love this great shawl and it is easy enough for me to knit!! Can you please clarify this detail? On row 2 of the buttonhole rows, do you mean knit 43 and then increase 5 stitches before finishing the row? Then do you repeat these button rows at 13 inches and 17 inches? Also. Did you start with chunky thick yarn or just regular yarn? I am wondering if I start with chunky yarn there will not be a need to knit two Strands at once?

I love your color chosen and the look is both chic and so fun!! Thanks for sharing.

    • MaryJane says:

Oh boy, we worked on this several years ago and so I can’t handily answer your question this morning but I thought, at the time, thata our directions were correct. We never got any feedback otherwise. Any knitters out there able to answer her question this morning????? We used regular yarn. Let us know how chunky yarn turns out. The two strands keeps regular yarn from curling on the edges. Depending on the chunky yarn you have, make a Barbie doll version and see if it curls:)

  9. Tammy Bradshaw says:

Done and Done. Wish I could handle something like this – I am better with a sewing machine, but I did learn to make dish rags thanks to your book 🙂

Giveaway: Glamper’s Calendar

Glamper calendars? Check.

Helping victims of Hurricane Sandy? Check. (If I recall correctly, more than $1,000 was raised.)

Giving away extra calendar. Check.

Loving the nature of a helping hand. Priceless.

I first heard about the Glamper’s Calendar from Kelle Arvay, Farmgirl Sister #4447, of Little Vintage Trailer. You may remember Kelle streaming in during my mother’s visit to the Hallmark Home & Family show last year. (Here is the video.) Kelle added her efforts to promote the calendar last November to help those that were caught in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Her picture (below) is one of the photos for the month of April. Va-voom, lady!

Unfortunately, the date to purchase the calendar has passed. However, lucky for one of you, we have an extra calendar to give away so you won’t have to miss all the lovely contributors and their vacations-on-wheels. Glamper chic!

To be entered to win, e-mail us a picture of your version of glamping to glamping@maryjanesfarm.org. We’ll post some pics and from there we’ll pick a winner to receive the calendar.

  1. Laurie Dimino says:

I just sent you an email of my glamping tent! You have truly inspiried me to do things that make life FUN! I belong to a bingo group, and in June I am hosting at my house and the theme is “glamping”. Its sure to be a hoot, and I cant wait to show others, how much fun glamping is!

  2. CJ Armstrong says:

    Dear Mary Jane,
Just emailed one of my very favorite “glamping” photos . . . doing it in style with my daughter, my best friend, my glamping partner.
Looking forward to more and more!
    Thanks!
    CJ

  1. Winnie Nielsen says:

I am so loving these snowy photos from your farm. It feels like how January really looks; all blanketed in white so that the earth gets a proper rest. With our sudden burst of above normal temps, we are seeing all of the flowering trees and azaleas move to blooming. It is about 4 weeks too early! If spring comes in January, will summer be here by April???
