Boston (Busting a Gut in Boston)

Aly traveled recently to the lovely city of Boston. Boston is home to an abundance of national treasures, major events in U.S. history and architecture that will leave you drooling. From the beautiful brick buildings, stunning steeples, the historic Faneuil Hall, scenic Boston Harbor, legendary Harvard Square, and shop-filled Newberry Street, is there anything better than Boston in the fall?

Take it from here, Aly!!!!!

  3. Jayne Phillips says:

Boston….one of my favorites, for obvious reasons (Tara is my daughter). I’m envious that you got to try Sportello before me! It’s on my list for the next trip, in 2012. Thanks Alyson.

  4. Debbie says:

Well, had I known a fellow sister was going to be so near, I would have joined you Alyson! Looks like you found your way around just fine without me though! 🙂 I would have been an awful guide… I was given a G.P.S. for my birthday a couple of weeks ago! Boston is a wonderful city and the North End has some of the best Italian food going! Deb ( mjf BEACH FARMGIRL BLOGGER )

  1. What is about old falling down barns that just make you want to go out sit, stare, & daydream up all the things that could have happened in that barn?

    • MaryJane says:

This barn is just up the road from our place, sitting on ground that a relative farms. One year L.L.Bean asked for permission to shoot photos of their models in and around it. It is indeed a peaceful place and was well-used in its day, based on the stories told at family gatherings.

Sun Valley (champagne wishes and caviar dreams)

Bonjour, Mon Cheri! Caviar and champagne dreams await you as our very own Alyson Oüten travels to Sun Valley to sample marvelous cuisine, right in her own backyard! Nestled in central Idaho, the renowned Sun Valley is a destination for cuisine, skiing, horseback riding, golfing, ice skating, snowmobiling, fishing, hot springs, biking, hiking, river rafting, camping, and rock climbing, just to name a few. Lucky for Alyson, she happens to live right around the corner. Unlucky for me, because I’m six hours north and would have loved to have joined her because … I’ve never in my life tasted caviar. With Alyson nudging me to give it a try, I recently gave it go while on a visit to Portland.

Take it away, Aly!!!
