Thank you for dropping by my Raising Jane Journal to participate in my giveaways! We’ve chosen a winner for this giveaway already, but don’t be afraid to leave a comment anyway. I love reading them.
In the Aug/Sept 2021 issue of MaryJanesFarm, “Dog Days of Summer” (on newsstands July 6), I led you here to my journal for a chance to win a beautiful FREE flour-sack towel imprinted with a Wild Bread illustration.
My book, Wild Bread, completely reinvents the concept of healthier-for-you, naturally fermented sourdough. My revolutionary fermentation technique demonstrates the use of eight different types of flours for each bread featured—everything from gluten-free brown-rice flour to quinoa to common white to heirloom whole wheat—for a whopping 295 recipes and 475 photographs. Pick up a copy at MaryJanesFarm.org.
For a chance to win a flour-sack towel, share with me something you love about my magazine or books or food or any of the products available on my website (have you discovered my Farmhouse Style décor items yet?) in the comments below. I’ll toss your name into a hat and draw a lucky winner sometime soon.
Stay tuned for more magazine-related giveaways. If you’re not yet a subscriber to my magazine, MaryJanesFarm, subscribe here for $19.95/year.
Oh my gosh! I’ve got years and years of your magazines that I have gone back to for recipes, projects, everything, lol. Sometimes I get distracted looking through them for something and end up making/ doing more than I planned. I’ll even say to my friends, “Hey, I think I saw something in one of my Mary Jane magazines about that. Let me look for it for you!” It’s impossible to pick just one thing about them.
I love everything about the magazine from recipes to book reviews. I also enjoy the DIY and have made several things from different magazines. My favorite is the milk can quilt.
When I read Mary Jane’s Farm I find myself taking a deep breath. I shut out the world and find my real self. Thank you for the inner peace that it gives me.
Love all of your books so many interesting things and wild Bread is wonderful love the recipes have tried them all they are the best.
Would love to win the flour sack towel thank you for the chance.
Your magazine reminds of being on the farm when I was 10 – 11 years old. It was wonderful and saved me.
Dear Mary Jane,
How do I decide what I love most? Everything is inspiring! However, since this is about your Wild Bread book, I will say that it is wonderful! I have given copies to friends, daughter-in-law, sisters and of course, have one for myself! It works well because it addresses grains that are gluten free friendly too. It is so much easier than I thought. Thank you for your dedication to bringing us all to the farm!!
Dear Mary Jane,
I forgot to mention that it was a joy to see your grand girls in the aprons that my sister and I made! Thank you! Melissa

I have subscribed your magazine for years, just recently bought the Wild Bread cookbook, can hardly wait to try!!! Thanks for the opportunity on the giveaway! Jill
I’ve been a fan since the beginning of your magazine. I never miss an issue.
I love love love it ! 😊
MJF Magazine is the ONLY subscription that I buy and the only magazine I’ve ever received in which I keep EVERY SINGLE ISSUE! In most issues I have post-it note bookmarks for articles that I reference regularly or for recipes or ideas that I want to get to eventually. I love, love, love the magazine! It has kept me grounded during so many long months of difficulty, loneliness, and the long years of returning to college after raising my family. I no longer have my little plot of country property but I still keep up the Farmgirl appearance in my more suburban location (a temporary, but necessary state of being). This is also the ONLY magazine that I have ever gifted to another person…my daughters, friends, neighbors…I think it is the most cheerful piece of mail to receive on a regular basis!
I love reading your magazines. They are packed full of wonderful recipes, gardening tips or tips on raising animals. There are also beautiful decorating or craft ideas in some of them. I own all of your books except for the milk cow one and it’s on my list lol. I have been working on the sourdough mother for nearly a month now and will be ready to move it to the fridge soon. I’ve made bread and pancakes and waffles so far and even have some of the mother in packages in my freezer. I’m excited to try all of the recipes in the Wild Bread book. I am also a member of the farmgirl sisterhood and am working on earning badges. I’ve submitted for three badges at this time and have several more to submit for soon. My ultimate goal is to get them all lol.
Actually I absolutely love the whole way of life your books/magazine depict! The only book I have not yet purchased is “”Wild Bread and I so look forward to the arrival of “Mary Jane’s Farm” magazine every other month!
Brings me back to wholesome simpler times. Family, talking about our day at the table and praying over our food. Love your magazine which my sister bought a subscription to for Christmas. Thank you for all you do.
Love the feel of the magazine paper. Wish more on flowers and recycling comes up in it.
I’m in the process of downsizing. I’ve thrown or donated all magazines, but I just can’t let go of my MJF! I love everything about the magazine and books, but the first pages I go to are the quilting & stitching/crafts. I have presented quilt history programs for the regional library system I work for, so I love seeing and reading about how quilts connect us to women in the past. Overall I feel the magazine conveys the idea that we are stewards of not only the land, but also of our families’ legacies, and our comminities’ past. We owe it to our ancestors and heirs to honor and preserve these things, and MaryJane shows us how in every issue.
I love the animal stories, the recipes and pretty much read your magazine from cover to cover. It’s by far my favorite magazine EVER!
Love your magazine! I learn something knee every time I read it! This issue found it very interesting about the meaning of the “dog days of summer”!
What I look forward to most are the 6 Farmgirl Bloggers…after reading what these ladies have written, I always come away with something new. Not so much a recipe or DIY; I don’t want that kind of take-away, It’s more a sense of sisterhood, sharing the ups & downs & lessons learned. And as simple as that may sound, it can change a person’s whole perspective…what a gift!
So many great ideas to be had in each of your magazine’s.
My mother in law’s name is also Mary Jane, so who can’t love that Name.!!!? Thank you for all the great ideas, recipe’s and article’s I love it all❤️
The first magazine I got was May/June/July of 2008. I quickly got a subscription and I’ve saved everyone of them since! I love everything about it, which is why it’s the only magazine subscription I’ve ever held on to!! Keep up the great work!!
Love your magazine! Reminds me of living with my Grandparents on their farm in Smithfield, Utah. Warm fuzzies when I read. Thank u 🌻
Been reading your magazine for years! I subscribed it to be sent to my smalltown library, to share with our library customers and quickly became one of our most checked out magazine! When Covid-19 hit the library discontinues all magazines and newspapers, I went into shock for the magazines I read each month. Hahaha So, I subscribed to MaryJane’s Farm to keep some normalcy during the Covid, and retirement! Thank you!!
I get so caught up in this crazy life and then your magazine is in my mailbox! Instantly I am reminded of what I need most! Perhaps this towel in my kitchen will be a daily reminder!
Mary Jane’s Farm brought me closer to my mother-in-law. Although years apart in age we share a love of taking care of our families in many creative ways. She encouraged my “farm girl” side when others didn’t understand it. Sadly she passed away in April and I miss her every day but now every time I see your magazine it’s like she’s still right here with me encouraging me along.
I always find many interesting articles. For example the cheese boards gave me an idea for a lunch when my favorite niece visits. I love your magazine.
I love, love, love Mary Jane’s Farm magazine so much! Thank you for the opportunity to win the flour sack towel.
I’m only a farm girl at heart but your magazine inspires me to do so many of the things I would do if I lived on the farm. I love the wonderful variety in the magazine and all the inspiration I get for day to day living plus fun projects. I have made a number of the crafty things.. This year I hung the flag I made from last years issue for the fourth of July and got a number of compliments on it..
Can’t wait to get “Sourdough Reinvented WILD BREAD” among other publications I’ve seen offered in the magazine. Thank you so much for making this city-farm-girl-at-heart a happier person when I see the latest issue in the mailbox.
I recently bought my sister and sister in law a subscription so it’s fun to connect with them across the miles through each issue. It’s inspiring, empowering, encouraging and a breath of fresh air!
Really love the magazine. My favorite part is the Recipes and Crafts. My favorite this month is the Instructions for the Ironing Board Cover and the Pickle Recipes. And was able to help my Dad on how to take care of his cast iron skillets.
I saw this magazine at a Farm and Fleet type feed store in Carrolton, Ohio. I leafed through it and was in love!!! I wanted the mag but couldnt afford it at that moment…. so i liberated one of the subscription catds out of the middle, took it home , filled it out and have been a subscriber ever since. That was 6 or more years ago. There isnt a single page that isnt filled with wonderful info and pics!! Thank you! And if it wasnt for me pilfering that subscription card😂 i wouldnt be a member. Keep up the great work. And im an inner city farmer in CantonOh. The only one. Sincerely Kathy
I love everything about your magazine-it is right up my alley 😉
I’ve enjoyed your magazine for years. I also like the ads 😊compared to most country magazines now filled with ads that totally take away from the magazine. I’ve also given a subscription to one of my granddaughters. It feels good in my hands and even if I don’t do any of the projects, I feel better just reading about them! Thanks for publishing such a high quality magazine we can “hold”!
My favorite part of MJF magazine is all the ways to be creative with what I have in hand. Those made me really think. Then I refer to all your books often. Cast iron cooking is something I’ve done for years, but I love trying all the new recipes or adapt mine to yours. So much more I could say, but it would take too long and I really need to get laundry on the line!
I love your magazine! I look forward to receiving each one! I especially enjoy the creativity contained in each.
I like the recipes and focus on natural foods.
I discovered MJF several years ago at our local Tractor Supply Store, and I instantly fell in love. My husband and I live on his 108-year-old family farm (though we lease the farmland out) and I have wanted to cultivate that farm life for our family. MJF is such an inspiration to me and gives me soooo many ideas, sometimes in fact, I go to sit down with it and can’t find it for a day or so, I believe my husband hides it from me. 🙂
This last spring I decided to get a subscription to MJF and join the Farmgirl Sisterhood. I am so excited when each issue arrives. I have been pouring over the Farmgirl Sisterhood Merit Badges book and MaryJane’s Ideabook Cookbook Lifebook getting ideas and making plans. I have plans to purchase all your other books as well.
I just wanted to add a Thank You to you MaryJane, for sharing a part of yourself with us and helping me to see how important it is to save, and even resurrect, the ideas, tools, and tricks of the past for not just myself but for future generations.
I so enjoy your magazines! As a forager, bread baker, and animal lover I have found some amazing articles and philosophy in them. Am ordering your Wild Bread book today, as I need a more streamlined way to ferment sourdough starter. The cheese plates in this issue look scrumptious too!

I love the healthy recipes and it builds my confidence in myself! There is nothing in your magazine to make women feel bad about themselves.
Oh, shucks, can you offer them for sale??
Can I tell you I am still reading them, the both I have because I was in Walmart and bought one and fell in love with your style and message. I bought 2 count ’em two years, would have bought more but Jesus might come back by then.
